About Amy Pfeffer Orchard Buffalo
Amy Pfeffer, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Orchard Park, has served in the military and as a police officer. She started working with Horizon Health Services in New York as a Mental Health Specialist and Substance Abuse Counselor in 2017. She then went on to work with Venture Forthe Inc. as a community-based counselor.
Mrs. Pfeffer moved to Gateway Longview as a Mental Health Counselor in October of 2019 and is now employed at Harris Hill Counseling (formerly known as Thriveworks). She works with youth, children, and families who have experienced a variety of traumas in order to reclaim control of their lives and enhance the quality of life for themselves and their loved ones. Amy Pfeffer is a Certified Autism Provider as well as a Certified Technology Addiction Provider, and she works with people who suffer from these conditions.
Mrs. Pfeffer studied Criminal Justice for several years before joining the New York State Army National Guard following the terrorist atrocities of September 11th. She spent a year in Iraq after completing her training, earning the Combat Action Badge and several other awards.
She returned to school after her time in Iraq and graduated from Hilbert College with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. She went on to become a police officer with the Rochester Police Department, where she received the Life Saving Award and the Key to the City for her service to the community. During her term, she was also granted a number of other concessions for other actions. While working as a police officer, Amy continued her studies and received a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration.
Amy also graduated from Daemen College with a Master of Science in Social Work. While working as a private investigator throughout the states of New York, Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, she was able to do this. She started her first therapy work with Horizon Health Care after graduating from graduate school with a perfect grade point average.
